Export & project planning
The information to bring together when furniture is made in Indonesia for a project overseas.
An overseas furniture order brings design, production, packing, and delivery into the same conversation. A clear item schedule and agreed responsibilities help the project team plan each stage. The starting point is the destination and the final place where the furniture will be used.
Share the destination country, delivery address, intended room conditions, and the route into the property. Tell the team whether the order is for a private home, a villa, a hotel, or another commercial setting. Include the target arrival date, while keeping production completion and final delivery as separate milestones.
The Kayu Atelier’s export destinations include Australia, Dubai and the wider Middle East, Kuwait, the Maldives, and Europe. For other destinations, contact our team to discuss the proposed order and delivery arrangements.
Give every piece a clear reference, quantity, size, material, finish, and destination room. Use the same references on drawings, approvals, packing information, and installation notes. This helps different teams discuss an item without relying on informal descriptions.
Record approved samples and any agreed variations. Before packing, discuss the inspection process and the information you would like to receive, such as item photographs or confirmation against the approved schedule.
Ask which activities are included in the quotation and which require a separate arrangement. Discuss packing, collection, freight, insurance, destination handling, local delivery, and installation with the relevant parties. Avoid treating a shipping estimate as a promise that every stage is included.
Destination-specific import requirements and charges should be confirmed with the appointed freight forwarder, customs broker, or relevant authority. This article is a project-planning guide, not a substitute for that confirmation, and does not promise clearance or a fixed transit time.
Decide who will receive and inspect the shipment, where it can be unpacked, and how the furniture will reach its final room. Confirm whether assembly is required and who will carry it out. Share access restrictions before arrangements are finalised.
Keep packing records, care instructions, and any agreed assembly information with the item schedule. A well-organised handover gives the receiving team the context they need to place and care for the furniture after delivery.
